Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Tonight on Monday, Lawal alleged that based on “facts and field data” gathered by his team, the election result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not reflect the true outcome.
“From the results available to us at that time, Bola Tinubu didn’t win the election,” Lawal stated. “We monitored the election, collected data, and saw alterations in some results.”
Lawal, who has been a vocal critic of the Tinubu-led administration, further accused the President of arrogance, suggesting that their personal fallout stemmed from Tinubu’s attitude rather than any wrongdoing on his own part.
“The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I am the one who offended him. I didn’t offend him. He is arrogant—arrogance that defies definition,” he said.
When asked if he would support Peter Obi in the 2027 elections, Lawal gave an uncertain response, indicating that his decision would depend on the political climate at the time.
The presidency and APC leadership are yet to respond to Lawal’s fresh allegations.
