Liverpool manager Arne Slot has refused to shut the door on a possible improved bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, despite already boasting a wealth of attacking talent in his squad.
The Premier League champions reportedly saw their £110 million offer rejected by Newcastle, who are holding out for a British transfer record fee. The Swedish forward, notably absent from the Magpies’ pre-season, has been training alone — fueling speculation of an impending transfer.

Outgoing transfers will help balance the books, with Darwin Nunez close to sealing a £46 million move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace at Wembley, Slot said:
“You never talk about players that are not yours. I think we have a lot of attacking power — Gakpo, Chiesa, Ekitike, Salah, Frimpong, Wirtz. But as always, we look at the market for opportunities.”
Liverpool’s pre-season preparations have been emotionally charged following the tragic death of forward Diogo Jota in a car accident last month in northern Spain.
