OMONIYELE SOWORE SLAMS TINUBU OVER ₦152M CASH GIFT TO SUPER FALCONS WHILE RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS GET ₦2M AFTER 35 YEARS

Activist Omoyele Sowore has criticised President Bola Tinubu over the recent announcement of a ₦152 million reward for each member of the Super Falcons, contrasting it with the meagre ₦2 million received by police officers after 35 years of service.

Sowore, in a statement shared on his social media page, described the disparity as “an insult to hardworking public servants” and called for a review of Nigeria’s reward and welfare system.

He argued that while rewarding sports excellence is commendable, the government must also ensure that those who dedicate their lives to national service — particularly security operatives — are treated with dignity and fairness.

The activist urged the administration to prioritise comprehensive reforms in pensions and welfare packages for public sector workers.
