Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has opened up about her journey since leaving the reality TV show in 2019.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, the social media personality recalled how some people went as far as killing goats and throwing parties the day she was disqualified from the Pepper Dem season after her altercation with eventual winner, Mercy Eke.
“I’ve been called all sorts of names. When I got disqualified, people literally celebrated, they killed goats and threw parties,” Tacha said.
Tacha also reflected on her experience living abroad, revealing that she paid as much as £5,000 monthly for an apartment in one of London’s expensive neighborhoods. According to her, the high cost of living and her friends being busy with multiple jobs made life quite isolating.
“It was literally just me in the most expensive neighborhood. Rent alone was £5,000 per month. Before you even blink, 30 days are gone, and you’re back to calculating again,” she recounted.
Despite the backlash from her BBNaija exit, Tacha has managed to build a thriving brand, maintaining her relevance in Nigeria’s entertainment space while also expanding her influence internationally.T
