Tension Escalates as VeryDarkMan Reveals Private Meeting With Iyabo Ojo and Naira Marley, Shares Alleged Evidence and Threatens to Speak Out

Lagos, Nigeria — Social commentator and activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has released new details concerning a private meeting he had with actress Iyabo Ojo and musician Naira Marley at a police station over the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of singer Mohbad.

In a video posted to his social media platforms, VDM claimed that during the meeting, Iyabo Ojo apologized to him and promised to “speak the truth” to the public. However, he expressed disappointment, stating that she has not upheld that promise.

“If she continues like this, I will speak out. I’ll make more posts about Mohbad’s case—and then I’m done,” VDM declared.

VDM also released screenshots of WhatsApp conversations which he claimed were from a private group created to control the public narrative surrounding Mohbad’s death. He alleged that the group included influential names such as Tonto Dikeh, Davido’s aide Dre, Samklef, and Jigan Baba Oja.

According to him, the group was involved in:

Coordinating narratives to present to the media

Planning his arrest and defamation, including leaking a nude video to damage his credibility

Shielding Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, from being interrogated by police investigators

VDM expressed outrage over what he described as a coordinated attempt to silence dissent, insisting that these efforts were not in pursuit of justice, but rather to manipulate public sympathy.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Iyabo Ojo denied all allegations and provided her side of the story. She clarified that:

The WhatsApp group was not secret but created publicly to organize the “Justice for Mohbad” campaign after a failed protest effort.

She had no role in orchestrating VDM’s arrest, stating that he was detained based on a defamation petition from a third party.

She continues to advocate for transparency and justice in Mohbad’s case.

“The group was made public, and anyone who wanted to join did. Our aim was to push for justice, not to suppress anyone,” she wrote.

Public Reactions on Instagram

The public has been divided, with social media platforms—particularly Instagram—becoming a battleground of opinions.

Many users commended VDM’s bravery in challenging celebrities and calling out inconsistencies.

“We need people like VDM to ask questions others are afraid to ask,” one user wrote.

“This is no longer about clout; it’s about truth,” another added.

Others questioned VDM’s motives and criticized his decision to leak private conversations.

“VDM always thinks the world revolves around him,” a user commented.

“Why drag her if she made a genuine apology in private?” another asked.

Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label, died under unclear circumstances in 2023, triggering a national outcry. Several celebrities, including Iyabo Ojo, took up the case as part of a campaign demanding an independent investigation.

VDM, a prominent voice in the case, has often questioned the integrity of those involved in the justice campaign, particularly when events appear inconsistent with public statements or official actions.

One of VDM’s most serious claims is that plans were made to publicly humiliate him through legal charges and damaging content leaks. He stated that the group’s aim was to:

• Control the public narrative

• Discredit anyone—particularly him—who disrupted the carefully constructed messaging

He also alleged that Wunmi, Mohbad’s widow, has not been formally interrogated by law enforcement, despite repeated public requests for her to be questioned.

VDM has warned that if Iyabo Ojo does not honor the alleged private agreement made during their police station meeting, he will release more evidence and speak more openly about the case.

He added:

“I kept quiet because I wanted peace. But if this continues, I’ll say everything and leave the matter in the court of public opinion.”

The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death continues to draw national attention, with growing calls for transparency and accountability. As accusations and counterclaims fly, the public remains divided—and the demand for clarity and truth continues to intensify.
